How to Perform Document Redaction in VIDIZMO

VIDIZMO enables automatic detection and redaction of sensitive information in documents using AI processing. Supported detection types include:

  • PII (Personally Identifiable Information): Names, addresses, phone numbers, and other personal data
  • OCR Text: Text recognized in images or scanned PDFs
  • Objects: Faces, people, vehicles, and signatures
  • Custom Patterns: User-defined patterns for editable and non-editable documents (when OCR is generated)

You can apply AI redaction to one or more documents simultaneously.

Prerequisites

  • Belong to a group with Redaction feature permissions.
  • Have the Document feature enabled to upload documents.
  • Configure the required VIDIZMO Indexer apps:
    • VIDIZMO Indexer: Detects and redacts PII
    • Vision Indexer: Detects OCR text and visual objects (faces, people, vehicles, signatures, custom patterns)

For configuration guidance, see:

Automatic Processing

When Automatic Processing is enabled in the VIDIZMO Indexer apps:

  1. Upload your document to the Library.
  2. The system automatically processes the document for configured AI insights (PII, OCR text, objects, or custom patterns).
  3. Once processing completes, a redacted copy appears in the Library.

NOTE:

  • Available insights depend on the bundle included in your purchased plan.
  • PII detection includes custom PII created from Custom Patterns.

On-Demand Processing

To redact a document manually:

  1. In the Library, select the document's overflow menu (three dots).
  2. Select Process.
  3. In the Process modal, select Generate AI Insights.
  4. Select the AI Insights to detect:
    • PII (Personally Identifiable Information)
    • OCR
    • Objects (faces, people, vehicles, or signatures)
  5. Select the Redaction Classes for each insight.
  6. Set the Confidence Threshold for redaction if required.
  7. Select the Action for the original file.
  8. Select Start to begin the redaction process.

NOTE: Additional fields may appear in the process modal depending on selected redaction classes or insights. Processing time depends on document size and selected detection options.

Once processing completes, a redacted version of the document is created and stored in the Library.

On-Demand Bulk Processing

To redact multiple documents:

  1. In the Library, select multiple documents using the checkboxes.
  2. On the ribbon, select Process.
  3. Configure the AI insights and redaction options as described in the On-Demand Processing section.
  4. Select Start to process all selected documents.
